H.R. No. 251



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Larry Ponder has been appointed to serve as 
assistant pastoral care minister at Buckner Villas retirement 
community in Austin; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Ponder brings to his new position a wealth of 
valuable experience gained through sharing his strong faith and 
spiritual guidance with the congregants of the First Baptist Church 
in Austin, where he is a valued member; and
	WHEREAS, A graduate of the Goodwill job training program, 
this dedicated gentleman has long contributed his time and energy 
to the benefit of his church and the wider community; through the 
years he has served as a messenger to Southern Baptist Church, as a 
precinct judge, and as sergeant at arms for the Green Forest Civic 
Club; and
	WHEREAS, The outstanding leadership and devotion of Mr. 
Ponder remain a tremendous source of inspiration to all who know 
him, and it is a pleasure to recognize him as he begins his new post; 
now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Larry Ponder 
on his appointment as assistant pastoral care minister of Buckner 
Villas retirement community and extend to him best wishes for 
continued success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Ponder as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
