R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Dusty Mercer of Waskom has been named an 
All-American Scholar by the United States Achievement Academy; and
	WHEREAS, The All-American Scholar Award Program recognizes 
those individuals who have excelled in academics, earning at least 
a 3.3 grade point average, and who have been nominated by a school 
instructor, counselor, or other qualified sponsor; and
	WHEREAS, A most deserving recipient, Mr. Mercer earned a 3.9 
grade point average during his junior year at Waskom High School, 
and he is also a member of the National Honor Roll, the National 
Association of High School Scholars, and the National Honor 
Society; and
	WHEREAS, Dusty Mercer is a source of tremendous pride to his 
family, his school, and his community, and he may undoubtedly look 
with anticipation and optimism toward a bright and rewarding 
future; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Dusty Mercer 
on being named an All-American Scholar by the United States 
Achievement Academy and extend to him sincere best wishes for 
continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Mercer as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
