R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The Highland Park High School boys' golf team lit up 
the links to win the Class 4A state championship title, further 
cementing its place in the sports annals of high school golf; and
	WHEREAS, After trailing McKinney by a shot going into the 
second day, the Scots surged to take the lead on the back nine and 
never lost it, claiming the coveted state crown for the sixth 
consecutive year; and
	WHEREAS, These talented golfers are Charlie Holland, Scott 
Barton, Rick Dunlap, Paul Haley, and Bryan Kay; Coach Jeff Lloyd 
schooled these student-athletes in the finer points of the sport 
while instilling in them the values of hard work, dedication, and 
good sportsmanship; and
	WHEREAS, Demonstrating the skill and commitment to 
excellence of true champions, the members of the Highland Park High 
School golf team are a source of tremendous pride to their school, 
families, and friends, and it is a pleasure to commend them on this 
outstanding athletic achievement; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate the Highland 
Park High School boys' golf team on winning the Class 4A state 
championship and extend to them best wishes for continued success; 
and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
