H.R. No. 261
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Senior Amy Bedell and junior Katelyn McKenzie of
Highland Park High School achieved the pinnacle of success in high
school doubles tennis when they won the Class 4A state championship
title; and
WHEREAS, In their second consecutive state final appearance,
this dynamic duo came back in the second set after falling behind
4-2 to win the next four games and clinch the coveted state crown;
and
WHEREAS, Coach Dan Holden, who schooled his charges in the
finer points of the game, proudly watched these superb tennis
players as they remained focused and attained their goal; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Bedell and Ms. McKenzie have demonstrated true
grit and determination, and the memory of this hard-earned victory
will undoubtedly remain with them for many years to come; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Amy Bedell and
Katelyn McKenzie of Highland Park High School on winning the
doubles tennis Class 4A state championship and extend to them best
wishes for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Bedell and Ms. McKenzie as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
