R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Dallas community lost a kindred spirit with the
passing of Dorothy Rose on July 7, 2005, at the age of 88; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Rose was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother,
great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother whose unwavering
faith in God, family, and community was known by all who had the
pleasure to interact with this special lady; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Rose was a longtime member of the True Purpose
Missionary Baptist Church, and worked with Reverend James Parker of
that institution for the betterment of the congregation and of the
community at large; when Mrs. Rose's health did not permit her to
attend, she was delighted to have Reverend William Everett, of the
Cathedral of Praise Bible Church, as a regular visitor to her home
to minister to her on an individual basis; and
WHEREAS, Mrs. Rose was preceded in death by her husband,
Homer Rose, Sr., and by one son, Roger Rose, and she leaves behind
her other two sons, Charles Rose (Justice of the Peace) and Horace
Rose, as well as a daughter, Jo Anne Rose Bell; and
WHEREAS, The passing of this wonderful woman has left a
painful void in the community, but comfort is taken in the
understanding that she has gone to a far better place; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of
Texas, 79th Legislature, 1st Called Session, 2005, hereby pay
tribute to the illustrious life of Dorothy Rose and extend sincere
condolences to her family and many friends, and that when the Texas
House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
Dorothy Rose.
