R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Jack and Barbara Cartwright of Midland marked the milestone of their 50th wedding anniversary on June 4, 2005, and to commemorate this joyous occasion, the happy couple treated their family to a special trip to Surfside; and WHEREAS, Mr. Cartwright and the former Barbara Alice Wells were united in matrimony in 1955 in Wellington; they have since shared a loving marriage and had four children, Cindy Moats, Claire Brock, Karen Hodge, and the late Wade Cartwright; moreover, they have joyfully welcomed into the family their sons-in-law, Tom Moats, Danny Brock, and Don Hodge, as well as their nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, Valued residents of Midland for nearly four decades, where they are members of the First United Methodist Church, the Cartwrights have led busy lives, with Mrs. Cartwright devoting herself as a homemaker throughout her marriage while Mr. Cartwright has worked as an independent geologist; and WHEREAS, The enduring union of Jack and Barbara Cartwright remains a source of inspiration to all those with whom they have shared the richness of their lives, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in celebrating their 50 years of happiness together; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Jack and Barbara Cartwright on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Cartwright as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
