R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Calvin Louis "Stump" Bryant and Helen Ruth Brock Bryant of Midland observed the memorable milestone of their 50th wedding anniversary on June 26, 2005; and WHEREAS, To commemorate this joyous occasion, the happy couple were the guests of honor at a special celebratory luncheon on June 25 hosted by their children and their spouses, Paula Schaus and her husband, Marlon, Perry Bryant and his wife, Ginny, Pat Bryant and his wife, Donna, Phyllis Mason and her husband, the Reverend John Mark, and Prentice Bryant and his wife, Sandra; and WHEREAS, Calvin Bryant and the former Helen Brock were united in matrimony in 1955 at Harmony Baptist Church in the Texas Panhandle; since that memorable day, the pair have seen their family grow to encompass two additional generations, and today they enjoy the company of 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren in addition to their children; and WHEREAS, The enduring union of Calvin and Helen Bryant remains an inspiration to all those with whom they have shared their lives, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in honoring their five decades of happiness together; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Calvin Louis "Stump" Bryant and Helen Ruth Brock Bryant on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Bryant as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
