                                                                  H.R. No. 272



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Those young people who have distinguished 
themselves through their diligence and hard work in pursuing their 
educational goals are an inspiration to every Texan, and they are 
truly deserving of our admiration and praise; and
	WHEREAS, The valedictorian of San Isidro High School's Class 
of 2005, Miguel Garcia, Jr., has demonstrated a thorough 
understanding of a wide range of subjects, from math and science to 
language arts and social studies; and
	WHEREAS, In addition to the pride inherent in being 
recognized as the highest achieving student in his class, Mr. 
Garcia will undoubtedly continue to inspire others when he enrolls 
in a pre-med program at Rice University in the fall; and
	WHEREAS, The academic success of this proud Starr County 
resident reflects a remarkable work ethic and a powerful drive to 
succeed, and his rural South Texas upbringing has clearly endowed 
him with a strength of character and a solid foundation on which to 
build his future; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Miguel 
Garcia, Jr., on being named valedictorian of San Isidro High School 
and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all 
his endeavors; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. Garcia as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
