R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Those young people who have distinguished themselves through their diligence and hard work in pursuing their educational goals are an inspiration to every Texan, and they are truly deserving of our admiration and praise; and WHEREAS, The salutatorian of Roma High School's Class of 2005, Abraham Pena, has demonstrated a thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, from math and science to language arts and social studies; and WHEREAS, In addition to the pride inherent in being recognized as the second highest achieving student in his class, Mr. Pena will undoubtedly continue to inspire others at The University of Texas at Austin, where he intends to pursue a degree in linguistics; and WHEREAS, The academic success of this proud Starr County resident reflects a remarkable work ethic and a powerful drive to succeed, and his rural South Texas upbringing has clearly endowed him with a strength of character and a solid foundation on which to build his future; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Abraham Pena for being named salutatorian of Roma High School and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. Pena as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
