R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of the Phillis Wheatley High School Class of
1965 are gathering in Houston on July 30, 2005, to celebrate their
40th reunion; and
WHEREAS, With the theme "Still Alive in 2005," the evening
promises to be memorable for all who attend, as old friendships are
rekindled, cherished memories are recalled, and the trials and
triumphs of the past four decades are shared amidst lively
conversation, warm laughter, and the occasional tear; and
WHEREAS, In the four decades since their high school
graduation, the men and women of the Class of '65 have assumed
leadership roles in Houston and throughout the state and nation,
and it is indeed fitting at this time to recognize their myriad
achievements as well as their loyalty to their alma mater; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commemorate the 40th
anniversary of the graduation of the Phillis Wheatley High School
Class of 1965 and extend to its members sincere best wishes for
continued success and happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the class as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
