H.R. No. 285



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Betty and Oliver "Mack" McClain of Longview 
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 24, 2005, with a 
special family reunion; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. McClain and the former Betty Croft exchanged 
their wedding vows in 1955, and over the years they have been 
blessed with two daughters, Suzanne Taylor and her husband, Jack, 
and Deanne Gibson and her husband, Wayne, a son, Jim McClain and his 
wife, Kristi, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 
and
	WHEREAS, A veteran of the Korean War, Mr. McClain is retired 
from Texas Eastman, while Mrs. McClain has been a dedicated 
homemaker throughout their marriage; together, they enjoy hunting 
and fishing; and
	WHEREAS, Mack and Betty McClain have shared life's trials and 
triumphs for half a century; their happy union is a source of 
inspiration to their family and many friends, and it is indeed 
appropriate that they be honored at this time; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Betty and 
Oliver "Mack" McClain of Longview on their 50th wedding 
anniversary; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McClain as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
