H.R. No. 287



R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Virgil "Bo" and Dell Newsom marked the milestone of 
their 50th wedding anniversary on July 1, 2005, and to commemorate 
this special occasion, the couple were the guests of honor at a 
special celebration hosted by their children on July 2, 2005; and
	WHEREAS, The Newsoms were united in matrimony in 1955, and 
they have enjoyed a marriage filled with love, trust, and mutual 
respect that has been blessed with four children, Robert, Rick, and 
Randy Newsom and Renita Griffin, and eight grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Valued members of their community, they have both 
retired from successful careers; Mrs. Newsom ably served 
Southwestern Bell for 30 years, and Mr. Newsom worked in the East 
Texas oil fields for four decades with Sinclair Oil & Gas and the 
Atlantic Richfield Company; and
	WHEREAS, The enduring union of Bo and Dell Newsom is a source 
of inspiration to those with whom they have shared the richness of 
their lives, and it is indeed a pleasure to honor them; now, 
therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Virgil and 
Dell Newsom on their golden wedding anniversary and extend to them 
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Newsom as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
