R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times, loving moments, and meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of Tommie G. Moralez of Falfurrias, who passed away on April 21, 2004, at the age of 71; and WHEREAS, Born on May 20, 1932, in Falfurrias, Mrs. Moralez played a prominent role in her hometown community throughout her life; after working at the Brooks County Hospital from 1955 to 1980, she served as the Brooks County tax assessor-collector chief deputy until 1992; she was also an active volunteer in community politics and local campaigns, a devoted congregant of Sacred Heart Parish, and a former member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Daughters Organization; and WHEREAS, She married Manuel Moralez on December 11, 1950, and shared many happy times with her husband as well as their children and grandchildren; and WHEREAS, A positive influence in the lives of her family members and her fellow citizens, Tommie Moralez will long be remembered for her devotion to her family and service to her community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Tommie G. Moralez and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, Manuel Moralez; to her children and their spouses, Oscar and Melva G. Moralez, Homer and Lamar Moralez, Nelda and Agapito "Pete" Moreno, and Omar and Sandra Moralez; to her grandchildren, Patricia and Rilo Villarreal, Kristina Moralez, Oscar Moralez, Jr., Rita Moralez, Homer Moralez, Jr., Michael Moralez, Adrian Moreno, Andrew Moralez, Nicholas Moralez, and Daniel Moralez; to her great-grandchildren, Kristen Moralez and John David Cruz; to her sister, Susan G. Garza; to her brothers, David, Joe, and Paul Grimes; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Tommie G. Moralez.
