R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Whitney Boyce of Utopia has been named the 2005 recipient of the Future Entrepreneur Award by the National Association for the Self-Employed; and WHEREAS, The Future Entrepreneur Scholarship is the nation's only major scholarship program supporting the philosophy of entrepreneurship rather than a specific profession, and is awarded annually to a young man or woman who exhibits leadership, academic excellence, ingenuity, and the entrepreneurial spirit; and WHEREAS, The 2005 valedictorian of Utopia High School, Ms. Boyce demonstrated remarkable talent and resourcefulness when she formed her own business, Paradise Prints, to showcase and sell her photographs, as well as other gift items; this outstanding young Texan has further distinguished herself as one of only 10 students accepted into the Texas Tech Undergraduate Medical School Initiative program for the 2005-2006 school year; and WHEREAS, A source of tremendous pride to her community, Whitney Boyce may look to a future bright with promise, and it is indeed a pleasure to join in celebrating this recent accomplishment; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Whitney Boyce on her receipt of the 2005 Future Entrepreneur Award from the National Association for the Self-Employed and extend to her sincere best wishes for success in all her endeavors; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Ms. Boyce as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
