H.R. No. 301


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Charles and Mary Joyce Ivey of Tornillo are celebrating 50 years of marriage with a Golden Wedding Anniversary Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church on August 6, 2005; and WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Ivey were joined in matrimony five decades ago at Our Lady of the Valley Church in El Paso; in 1959, the committed couple moved to their farm home in Tornillo, where they raised six children; and WHEREAS, Devoted to their loving, close-knit family, the Iveys are the parents of Jeff, Craig, Ricky, and Everett Ivey, Molly Ruttle, Mary Ivey Santos, and the late Charles Carter Ivey, and the grandparents of Michael, Justin, Ashley, Jennifer, Charles, Elizabeth, Jessica, James, and Ted Ivey, Steven Carter and Allison Ruttle, and Sarah, Rebecca, and Matthew Santos; through the years, they have also enjoyed a rewarding relationship with their sons-in-law and daughters-in-law, Patricia, Ana, Chris, Dave, and Danelle; and WHEREAS, Mr. Ivey is a respected local businessman, with interests including a chain of retail tire stores and other property and investment endeavors; he is greatly admired for his wisdom and kindness among his many friends and neighbors; and WHEREAS, Mrs. Ivey also enjoys an active role in the family businesses; an accomplished musician, she has lent her skills to countless gatherings and to God's glory in her beloved Catholic Church; and WHEREAS, Together, Charles and Mary Joyce Ivey have shared the trials and triumphs of half a century, and it is a pleasure to join in honoring them on this milestone in their marriage; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Charles and Mary Joyce Ivey on their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Ivey as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
