R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, On August 12, 2005, Trisha Lynn Slaughter is
celebrating a significant milestone in her life upon her graduation
from Texas State University with a bachelor of science degree in
psychology; and
WHEREAS, The daughter of Barbara Thompson Grusendorf of
Arlington, Ms. Slaughter lived in Austin as a child, graduating
from Kirby Hall School at the completion of her middle school
education, and from Georgetown High School in 1997; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has shown initiative,
leadership, and a determination to succeed throughout her academic
career; she has balanced her studies with employment as an
administrative assistant to the president of a nationwide leasing
corporation as well as working in sales and inventorying for
several companies; she also has been employed with the TSU Texas
Success Initiative Program office; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Slaughter has achieved her college graduation
through dedication to her goals and discipline in her schoolwork,
and it is truly a pleasure to recognize her as she prepares to
embark on an exciting new chapter in her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Trisha Lynn
Slaughter on her graduation from Texas State University and extend
to her sincere best wishes for success and happiness in the coming
years; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Slaughter as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
