H.R. No. 346


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army Specialist Hoby F. Bradfield, Jr., of The Woodlands suffered an immeasurable loss with the death of this beloved young man on July 9, 2005, at the age of 22; and WHEREAS, A member of the 2nd Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Specialist Bradfield was killed while serving his second tour of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom; and WHEREAS, Notwithstanding the hardships that he faced in a war zone, this brave soldier performed his work with pride and professionalism, and his concern for the well-being of others was truly commendable; and WHEREAS, Our state and our nation are fortunate to have young men and women whose love for their country inspires them to military service, yet the tragic death of this exemplary young American is a sobering reminder of the cost of war; we owe a profound debt to our nation's servicemen and servicewomen, whose valiant efforts and enormous sacrifices are deserving of their fellow citizens' deepest respect and gratitude; and WHEREAS, Beloved husband, son, and brother, Hoby Bradfield will be sorely missed by his family, friends, and fellow soldiers, but his heroism will not be forgotten; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Specialist Hoby F. Bradfield and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Crystin Bradfield; to his father and stepmother, Hoby Bradfield, Sr., and Elizabeth Buck Bradfield; to his mother, Diane Sterling; to his siblings, Jared Bradfield, Chris Orr, Brandon Buck, and Jessica Buck; to his grandparents, Aaron and Mary Sikes; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army Specialist Hoby F.
