R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Brady National Bank, one of the oldest institutions in this Central Texas town, celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding on July 9, 2005; and WHEREAS, Located on Brady's historic downtown square, the bank first opened to the public on July 10, 1905, and has enjoyed steady growth over the course of the past century; and WHEREAS, Through the years, Brady National Bank has cultivated a community-minded board of directors whose members have played an important role in the town's development, contributing to the construction of area schools, churches, and railroads; today, the bank and its employees support countless local organizations, including Helping Hands, Casa Care, The Haven, the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, and area volunteer fire departments; in 1993, the bank's directors developed a scholarship program for college-bound seniors from McCulloch County; and WHEREAS, Helping guide the bank toward a prosperous future are board members Joe Kim King, chief executive officer, Benjamin Terry Keltz, president, Frank Roddie, Jr., chair, and Michael R. Davis, Royden J. Gartman, Ed Keeling, Greg W. Schwertner, V. Murray Jordan, and Frank D. King; in addition, the bank benefits from the dedication of its 27 employees and the leadership of its officers: Sue Owens, Julie Ledezma, Billie Davis, Charlie Humphreys, Nicholas Blyshak, Ella Metzger, Brenda Taylor, and Darlene Bratton; and WHEREAS, For 100 years, Brady National Bank has met the needs of McCulloch County residents by providing quality service and community support, and this venerable institution will undoubtedly continue to play a vital role in the community for many years to come; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby honor Brady National Bank on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of its founding and extend to all its directors, officers, and employees sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the bank as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
