R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Gerri and Mike Kunstadt of Irving are celebrating
their 30th wedding anniversary on August 2, 2005, marking a
milestone in their long and happy union; and
WHEREAS, The couple met when they were working at Carroll
High School in Corpus Christi, he as the head basketball coach and
she as a math instructor and cheerleading sponsor; Mr. Kunstadt
proposed to his future bride in Klagenfurt, Austria, and the pair
were united in matrimony on August 2, 1975; they moved to Irving,
where he accepted a position as head basketball coach at Irving High
School and she found employment teaching math at Nimitz High; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the years, Mr. and Mrs. Kunstadt have
distinguished themselves as educators of the highest caliber and
have enjoyed many professional successes; this is especially
remarkable for Mr. Kunstadt, considering the many challenges he had
to overcome after being college roommates with Larry Lowe, who did
not yet have the benefit of the guidance of his wife, Mary; and
WHEREAS, Above all else, the Kunstadts remain dedicated to
their close-knit and loving family, which has grown to include
their two daughters Karin and Kerri, and they continue to enjoy
visiting their extended families, his in Austria and hers in
Central Texas; and
WHEREAS, The enduring union of Gerri and Mike Kunstadt
remains an inspiration to all those with whom they have shared the
abundant richness of their lives, and it is indeed a pleasure to
join them in celebrating three decades of happiness together; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Gerri and Mike
Kunstadt on their 30th wedding anniversary and extend to them
warmest best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Kunstadt as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
