R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Nicolas Santos Palacios
were deeply saddened by the untimely passing of this beloved man on
July 12, 2005, at the age of 36; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in Edinburg, Mr. Palacios graduated
from Edinburg High School and The University of Texas--Pan
American; he was employed as the chief financial officer for White
House Clinics; and
WHEREAS, A devoted husband, caring father, and wonderful son
and brother, Mr. Palacios will be profoundly missed, but the
blessings of his life will be forever cherished by those who shared
in the warmth of his love and friendship; and
WHEREAS, Representative Aaron Pena has justly honored the
life of Nicolas Palacios by passing this resolution in his memory
during the 1st Called Session of the 79th Legislature; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of
Nicolas Santos Palacios and extend sincere sympathy to the members
of his family: to his wife, Hermelinda "Mellie" Palacios; to his two
children, Mariza and Amanda; to his parents, Nicolas and Francisca
Palacios; to his five brothers, Jaime Palacios, Ricardo Palacios,
Joseph Palacios, Mario Palacios, and Willie Palacios; to his two
sisters, Criselda Palacios and Melva Palacios; to his grandmothers,
Lucia Palacios and Guadalupe Garza; and to his many other relatives
and friends; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Nicolas
Santos Palacios.
