R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, The members of Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church are 
celebrating the installation of the Reverend Ralph Whitehead as the 
church's new pastor; and
	WHEREAS, Officially welcomed as pastor on July 17, 2005, 
Reverend Whitehead will provide moral and spiritual guidance to 
members of the congregation, who have long demonstrated a steadfast 
commitment to bettering their community; and
	WHEREAS, A graduate of the Southern Bible Institute and The 
Criswell College, Reverend Whitehead has also attended El Centro 
Community College and Cedar Valley Community College; and
	WHEREAS, This esteemed clergyman led Mount Moriah Baptist 
Church in Milford and served the Greater Rising Star District 
Association as president of the Sunday School and BTU (Baptist 
Training Union) Congress; over the past 2-1/2 decades, Reverend 
Whitehead has held various leadership posts with primitive Baptist 
and missionary Baptist congregations; and
	WHEREAS, In accepting the call to the pastorate at Greater 
Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Reverend Whitehead will be sharing his 
strong faith, compassion, and understanding with the members of his 
congregation, and it is appropriate to take this opportunity to 
recognize him; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate the Reverend 
Ralph Whitehead on the occasion of his installation as pastor of 
Greater Mt. Olive Baptist Church and extend to him sincere best 
wishes for the future; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for Reverend Whitehead as an expression of high regard by 
the Texas House of Representatives.
