H.R. No. 434


R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Deputy Andrew Harrison Taylor of the Llano County Sheriff's Department was killed in the line of duty on May 9, 2005, at the age of 27, and his death was a loss not only to his family and to his fellow peace officers but to the entire community; and WHEREAS, This esteemed officer exemplified in his personal and professional conduct the virtues of courage, integrity, and unwavering dedication, and his commitment to the law enforcement profession, as well as to the community he served, earned him the admiration and respect of all who knew him; and WHEREAS, A native Texan, he was born on July 29, 1977, in Fredericksburg and lived most of his life in Llano; Officer Taylor was a former reserve Llano police officer who had worked for the Llano County Sheriff's Department for the past three years; further, this civic-minded citizen was a five-year member of the Llano Volunteer Fire Department; and WHEREAS, Andy Taylor's life reflected a deep commitment to the welfare of others; though his life has been cut tragically short, the memory of his engaging smile, jovial laugh, and affable nature will live on in the hearts of the countless people whose lives he touched; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Andrew Harrison Taylor and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his mother, Roxanne Clark; to his father, Harrison "Stretch" Taylor and his wife, Marcia; to his fiancee, Amber Pennington, and her son, Hunter; to his brother, Price Taylor; to his grandparents, Bill and LaRue Zachary and Doris Taylor; to his great-grandmother, Grace Chandler; to his stepsister and stepbrother, Barbara Holland and Jared Klimple; and to his many other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Andrew Harrison Taylor.
