R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Members of the Phillis Wheatley High School Class of 
1955 are gathering in Houston for their class reunion in October 
2005 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their graduation; and
	WHEREAS, The event promises to be a memorable one for all who 
attend, as old friendships are rekindled, cherished memories are 
recalled, and the trials and triumphs of the past five decades are 
shared amidst lively conversation, warm laughter, and the 
occasional tear; and
	WHEREAS, In the five decades since their high school 
graduation, the men and women of the Class of '55 have assumed 
leadership roles in Houston and throughout the state and nation, 
and it is indeed fitting to recognize their myriad achievements as 
well as their loyalty to their alma mater; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 
Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commemorate the 50th 
anniversary of the graduation of the Phillis Wheatley High School 
Class of 1955 and extend to its members sincere best wishes for 
continued success and happiness; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 
prepared for the class as an expression of high regard by the Texas 
House of Representatives.
