SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 18
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Maya Rockeymoore for her outstanding work with the
Congressional Black Caucus Foundation; and
WHEREAS, As vice president of Research and Programs, Maya
has been instrumental in furthering the programs and goals of the
Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and has dedicated her time
to helping the organization in its efforts to uplift humanity and
preserve democracy; and
WHEREAS, Respected and admired by her colleagues, Maya
played a major role in launching the foundation's Center for
Policy Analysis and Research, implementing the foundation's
District Level Forums, and expanding on its work in Brazil and
sub-Saharan Africa; and
WHEREAS, Maya's work on the foundation's programs was a
tremendous asset to the organization, and her leadership as vice
president of Research and Programs will be greatly missed; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend
Maya Rockeymoore for her exceptional work in advancing the
causes of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation and extend
to her best wishes for success in all her future endeavors; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
