SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 22

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize Irene Abeita, who is retiring from the Office of the 
Comptroller of Public Accounts on June 30, 2005, after 29 years 
of loyal service with the state; and

	WHEREAS, Irene is retiring from the Taxpayer Publications 
Division, Graphics Section, where she is known as "The 
Comptroller's Mailing List and Publication's Matron"; in addition 
to the Comptroller's Office, she has worked in the Governor's 
Budget Office; and

	WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Irene has been noted for 
her superior skills and efficiency; a talented and resourceful 
individual, she has handled her many responsibilities with 
exceptional dedication and effectiveness; and

	WHEREAS, On her retirement, Irene plans to spend more time 
with her family--her son, Robbie, her grandchildren, Joshua, 
Trey, and Michelle, and her parents; she will also spend time 
traveling, reading, and sewing; and

	WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, Irene is admired and 
respected by her colleagues, and her presence in the Office of 
the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, 
therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Irene Abeita on 
her exceptional service and her many contributions to our state 
and extend to her best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, 
be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
