SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 47
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to pay
tribute to Beatrice Ledesma on the grand occasion of her 90th
birthday; and
WHEREAS, Beatrice was born the middle daughter of
Dolores M. Cazares and Marcos Cazares on July 8, 1915, in Austin,
Texas; she attended schools in Austin; and
WHEREAS, On June 20, 1937, she married Jesse O. Ledesma,
who passed away on March 25, 1990; the couple was blessed with
three children, Virginia Camarillo, Dolores Shecter, and
Jesse Ledesma, Jr.; and
WHEREAS, Bea is dedicated to her family and is proud to
be the mother of three, the grandmother of eight, and the
great-grandmother of 15; and
WHEREAS, She has also been a foster grandmother for 13
years to many ill children at the Children's Hospital of Austin,
where she is affectionately known as "Grandma Bea"; and
WHEREAS, She was recently honored by the "Five Who Care"
program sponsored by KVUE, Slack and Davis, and Frost Bank; this
program shines the light on individuals who exemplify the term
"public servant," as evidenced by their commitment to making the
world a better place through their acts of kindness and caring;
and
WHEREAS, Bea's family and friends are gathering July 9, 2005,
to share in a joyous celebration of her 90th birthday; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby recognize
Beatrice Ledesma as a treasured citizen of this state and extend
to her best wishes for a grand birthday celebration; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as a memento of this special day.
