SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 48
In Memory
of
Isabel Valdez Ramos
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens of Austin in mourning the loss of Isabel Valdez Ramos, who died June 24, 2005, at the age of 89; and WHEREAS, Isabel Valdez was born on November 18, 1915, in Red Rock, Texas, to Esteban C. Valdez and Ysabel Lopez Valdez; she was married to the late Manuel F. Ramos; and WHEREAS, A woman of exceptional charm and generosity, Isabel dedicated her life to her family and her faith, and she enriched the lives of all who knew her through her love and compassion and her warmth and kindness; and WHEREAS, A devout Catholic, Isabel was an active member of the Guadalupanas at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and of the Sacred Heart of Jesus group; she was also a member of Santa Julia Catholic Church; and WHEREAS, Isabel lived her life to the fullest and was a devoted mother and grandmother, and she leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by her family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Isabel Valdez Ramos: her son and daughter-in-law, Tomas and Antonia Ramos; her daughters and sons-in-law, Minnie and Cipriano Aleman, Hermelinda and Louis Fabian, and Oralia and Raymond Rodriguez; her son-in-law, Benjamin Lopez; her sister, Maria Louisa Gutierrez; and her 17 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Isabel Ramos.
