SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 49
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Ellen K. Pierce, who is retiring on July 31, 2005, after accruing 31 years of service to the state, with more than 23 years of loyal service with the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts; and WHEREAS, Ellen Pierce began her tenure in the comptroller's office in the Secretary Services Division, whose name was changed to the Word Processing Division, before transferring to what is now the Information Technology Division; and WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Ellen has been noted for her superior organizational skills and programming expertise; and WHEREAS, A talented and resourceful individual, she has handled her many responsibilities with exceptional efficiency and dedication; and WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, Ellen is admired and respected by her colleagues, and her presence in the Office of the Comptroller of Public Accounts will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Ellen K. Pierce on her exceptional service and her many contributions to our state and extend to her best wishes for the retirement years ahead; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
