SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 72
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Scott Cameron on his graduation from the Seaborne ChalleNGe Corps Program; and WHEREAS, To earn the graduation certificate, Scott completed a rigorous military academy regimen of academic excellence, volunteer service to the community, and physical fitness training; and WHEREAS, The Seaborne ChalleNGe Corps Program provides education, career development training, and the opportunity of community service to young people from 16 to 18 years of age who are at risk of dropping out of high school or who have dropped out of high school; and WHEREAS, The ChalleNGe Program was developed by Texas A&M University at Galveston and the Texas National Guard; it is administered by the Texas National Guard as part of the National Guard Bureau Youth ChalleNGe Program to develop and prepare young adults to engage in meaningful careers with goals for the future; and WHEREAS, Corps members are selected for their motivation to succeed; Scott has taken advantage of the opportunity to improve himself and plan for his future; and WHEREAS, By completing the requirements for graduation, Scott has made a commitment to become a responsible, productive citizen, to further his education, and to contribute his talents to his community; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend congratulations to Scott Cameron on his graduation from the Seaborne ChalleNGe Corps Program and on his commitment to education and service; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
