SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 98
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Linda Jennings, who is retiring on August 31, 2005,
from the Health and Human Services Commission after 31 years of
loyal service to the state; and
WHEREAS, Linda began her employment in 1974 at the
Department of Public Welfare; the department later became the
Health and Human Services Commission; and
WHEREAS, She started her career as a secretary to a child
placement supervisor; she was promoted to the position of civil
rights program specialist and for 12 years helped develop and
implement an affirmative action plan and a reasonable
accommodation program; and
WHEREAS, She became the IT Trainer and Regional Security
Officer and MAPPER programmer; for the past 14 years she has
written curricula and provided software technical support
and computer training to over 2,000 staff members and has
administered the department's computer security policies and
procedures in her region; and
WHEREAS, An exemplary employee, Linda is admired and
respected by her colleagues, and her presence in the Grand Prairie
office of the Health and Human Services Commission will be greatly
missed; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Linda Jennings
on her exceptional service and her many contributions to our
state and extend to her best wishes for the retirement years
ahead; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
her as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
