SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 106
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to recognize Anthony Duncan for his recent induction into the Texas Restaurant Association Hall of Honor; and WHEREAS, Operating a restaurant requires creativity, consistency, and determination, and Anthony Duncan has shown these qualities over the years as he has developed and guided his El Paso restaurants to success; and WHEREAS, Best known as the owner of Hudson's Grill, Anthony is an entrepreneur who began his career in the restaurant business at the age of 17 and quickly rose to the position of general manager of El Paso's Pelican restaurant; and WHEREAS, His Hudson's Grill on the East Side of El Paso will soon celebrate 20 years of operation, and his Hudson's Grill on the West Side is almost 11 years old; the Hudson's concept has been franchised by Anthony's Dallas-based partner, David Osborn; and WHEREAS, The two Hudson's Grills in El Paso have combined annual sales of more than $2 million and employ 75 people; the restaurants provide the right combination of quality food and ambience and are noted for the popular Hudson's Classic Burger; and WHEREAS, In addition to providing good food and service, Anthony relates well with his customers and employees; some managers remain with the company for many years and some go on to become partners in his other ventures; his latest creation is the Border City Ale House; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Anthony Duncan for his years of success in the restaurant business in El Paso and congratulate him for being named to the Texas Restaurant Association Hall of Honor; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
