SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 125

	WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 
recognize the members of the Southeast Dallas Coalition and the 
Pleasant Grove Weed and Seed community as they celebrate their 
Third Annual National Night Out on August 2, 2005; and

	WHEREAS, National Night Out is intended to strengthen 
neighborhood spirit and police and community partnerships, 
generate support for and participation in local anticrime 
efforts, and heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; and

	WHEREAS, The National Association of Town Watch is 
sponsoring the 22nd Annual National Night Out; activities at
the Southeast Dallas Coalition National Night Out celebration 
will take place at the Pleasant Grove Shopping Center between 
6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.; and

	WHEREAS, National Night Out brings together individuals 
and organizations committed to ensuring a safe and secure 
community and provides an opportunity for people to demonstrate 
neighborliness and goodwill toward others; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend the members 
of the Southeast Dallas Coalition and the Pleasant Grove Weed
and Seed community as they join communities across the country
in celebrating National Night Out; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
in honor of this occasion as an expression of esteem from the 
Texas Senate.
