SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 131
In Memory
of
Lucius D. Starr
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas honors the life of Lucius D. Starr, who died April 16, 2005, at the age of 86; and WHEREAS, Lucius was born July 13, 1918, in Denver, Colorado; he served his country in World War II in the United States Army Air Corps; and WHEREAS, He was respected in the community for his many accomplishments; he was a talented woodcarver and was known for his amazing bas relief creations; and WHEREAS, His warmth and his valued counsel will be greatly missed, but will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and WHEREAS, Lucius was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and many friends; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 79th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family of Lucius Starr: his beloved wife of 65 years, Lois Starr; his daughter and son-in-law, Claudia and Buddy Kelley; his son and daughter-in-law, George E. and Glenda Starr; and, be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in the memory of Lucius D. Starr.
