SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 134
WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to
recognize Brooke Womble, who recently participated in the Texas
Statewide Preceptorship Program; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Statewide Preceptorship Program is a
partnership linking the Texas Academy of Family Physicians with
students from the eight Texas medical schools; it pairs medical
students with experienced family physicians and allows the
students to observe the challenges and rewards of family practice;
and
WHEREAS, Brooke is a medical student at Baylor College of
Medicine and was hosted in the program by Dr. Alfred Louis in
Houston; recent studies by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating
Board show that this program has a positive influence on medical
students in their choice of family medicine as a career; and
WHEREAS, Participants in the Texas Statewide Preceptorship
Program are dedicated individuals who will undoubtedly contribute
greatly to the welfare of the citizens in their communities; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
79th Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Brooke Womble
for participating in the Texas Statewide Preceptorship Program;
and, be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared as an
expression of esteem from the Texas Senate.
