Amend CSHB 2 as follows:                                                     

	(1)  On page 453, between lines 26 and 27, insert the 

following new SECTION of the bill to read as follows:

	SECTION __.__.  It is the intent of the Legislature that the 

provisions in HB 1, Acts of the 79th Legislature, 1st Called 

Session, 2005, relating to funding for the provision of textbooks 

refer to funding for Proclamation 2002 textbooks for the 2005-06 

school year.  Notwithstanding any other law or provision of this 

Act, the Texas Education Agency shall expedite the process for 

timely delivery of such textbooks to classrooms upon passage of 

this Act.
