R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Reverend Steve W. Hall, Sr., is being honored on August 14, 2005, for his 20 years of exceptional service to Bethany Baptist Church in Houston; and WHEREAS, This notable clergyman was confirmed and ordained as the congregation's pastor in August 1985, and under his leadership, the church has thrived, growing in number and greatly benefiting from his wisdom and guidance; and WHEREAS, A native of Navasota and a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army, Dr. Hall is a graduate of Prairie View A&M University and the Houston Graduate School of Theology, where he received his master's degree in divinity and doctorate of ministry; he previously served his faith as the chair of deacons, associate minister, and assistant pastor of Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church of Houston; and WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Dr. Hall enjoys the love and support of his wife and Bethany's First Lady, Diane A. Hall, and their three sons, Steve, Jonathan, and Christopher; and WHEREAS, To devote oneself to religious service is truly a noble calling, and through his dedication to his fellowman, Dr. Hall has made a positive difference in the lives of countless Texans who have benefited from his inspired teachings; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend the Reverend Steve W. Hall, Sr., for his two decades of service to Bethany Baptist Church and the greater community and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success with his important work; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Dr. Hall as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
