H.R. No. 56
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Randall Brown of McCamey has been honored by the
United States Achievement Academy with a USAA National Award in
Science; and
WHEREAS, Fewer than 10 percent of American high school
students are selected to receive a USAA National Award; honorees
are recommended by teachers, coaches, counselors, and other
qualified sponsors and must meet the academy's rigorous standards
of selection; and
WHEREAS, Criteria for a student's selection by the academy
include academic performance, leadership skills and abilities, and
motivation to learn and improve; winners must also demonstrate
citizenship, aptitude, and a cooperative spirit, as well as
responsibility, enthusiasm, and dependability; and
WHEREAS, A student at McCamey High School, Randall Brown is
the son of proud parents Tony and Arlene Brown and the grandson of
Roy and Alice Kephart and Shirley Brown and Francis Pacton; and
WHEREAS, With his selection by the academy, Randall Brown has
earned the respect and admiration of his family, teachers, and
fellow students, and it is a pleasure to join in honoring this
outstanding student; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Randall Brown
on his receipt of a United States Achievement Academy National
Award in Science and extend best wishes to him for continued success
and happiness in all his endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Brown as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
