R E S O L U T I O N

	WHEREAS, Ben and Charlene Dobbs marked a special milestone in 

their lives on July 3, 2005, when they celebrated their golden 

wedding anniversary with a reception at the Westside Church of 

Christ; and

	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Dobbs were married on June 3, 1955, at 

the Southside Church of Christ in Midland, and their enduring union 

has been blessed with three children, Becky Hise, Sherry Hurley, 

and Valerie Medley; moreover, they have shared in the joy of 

welcoming seven grandchildren into their family; and

	WHEREAS, The couple lived in Lovington, New Mexico, before 

moving to Midland in 1994; he taught math, and she was an elementary 

school teacher; they are congregants of the Westside Church of 

Christ; and

	WHEREAS, For more than half a century, this devoted couple 

have nurtured a strong bond of love and mutual respect, filling each 

other's lives with many happy times and cherished family memories, 

and it is a pleasure to honor them at this time; now, therefore, be 

it

	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 

Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Ben and 

Charlene Dobbs on the joyous occasion of their 50th wedding 

anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued happiness; 

and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 

prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Dobbs as an expression of high regard by 

the Texas House of Representatives.
