H.R. No. 58 







R E S O L U T I O N

	WHEREAS, Refugio Moreno, Sr., and Lupe Moreno marked a 

special milestone in their lives on July 23, 2005, when they 

celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a mass given by 

Father Rudi Crasta followed by a reception and dance at St. Margaret 

Mary Catholic Church in Lamesa; and

	WHEREAS, Mr. Moreno married the former Lupe Reyes on July 23, 

1955, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, and their enduring 

union has been blessed with three children, Refugio Moreno, Jr., 

David Moreno, and Nancy Moreno Ogeda; moreover, they have shared in 

the joy of welcoming six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren 

into their family; and

	WHEREAS, Born in Seguin and raised in Lamesa, Mr. Moreno 

worked on farms during his entire married life, and he enjoys 

playing the guitar and working in the yard; Mrs. Moreno, who was 

born in San Antonio and grew up in Lamesa, has been a caring 

homemaker through the years; her hobbies include gardening, 

dancing, and cooking; and

	WHEREAS, For more than half a century, this devoted couple 

have nurtured a strong bond of love and mutual respect, filling each 

other's lives with many happy times and cherished family memories, 

and it is a pleasure to honor them at this time; now, therefore, be 

it

	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 

Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Refugio 

Moreno, Sr., and Lupe Moreno on the joyous occasion of their 50th 

wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued 

happiness; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 

prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Moreno as an expression of high regard by 

the Texas House of Representatives.
