R E S O L U T I O N

	WHEREAS, Edward K. Evans of Duncanville has reached the 

highest advancement rank in scouting, and his hard work and mastery 

of the many skills required to realize this noteworthy 

accomplishment are being recognized at an Eagle Scout Court of 

Honor ceremony on July 31, 2005, at Good Street Baptist Church; and

	WHEREAS, A valued member of Boy Scout Troop No. 167, which is 

sponsored by the church, Mr. Evans has progressed through the 

ranks, earning 21 merit badges and completing an Eagle Scout 

project of lasting benefit to his community; and

	WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Evans is an active congregant of Good 

Street Baptist Church, where his activities have included 

participation in the Senior Ambassadors Youth Choir, the Junior 

Usher Board, Christian education, and the church band and drill 

team; a Sunday school teacher, he was named runner-up Northwestern 

District Youth Association King for Christ and has served as 

president, second vice president, and third vice president; and

	 WHEREAS, The son of Sharon Evans Wright, Mr. Evans is a 2005 

graduate of Duncanville High School, where he was named a Texas 

Scholar his senior year and earned a Dr. Jesse W. Jones Scholarship 

and a National Top Teens Scholarship; he will embark on his college 

career in the fall, majoring in business management at Prairie View 

A&M University; and

	WHEREAS, Deeply committed to scouting, his church, and his 

community, Eagle Scout Evans is an inspiration to all those who know 

him, and it is a pleasure to honor him at this time; now, therefore, 

be it

	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 

Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Edward K. 

Evans for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him 

sincere best wishes for success and happiness in all his endeavors; 

and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 

prepared for Mr. Evans as an expression of high regard by the Texas 

House of Representatives.
