H.R. No. 69
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Rotary Club of Park Cities has honored Larry R.
Byrd with its Ethics Award, offering an ideal opportunity to
reflect on the many accomplishments of this esteemed Texan; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Byrd is a native of Brownsville who earned a
bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Texas Tech
University before serving in the U.S. Air Force and attaining the
rank of captain; and
WHEREAS, A former employee of Exxon Mobil, he is now the
president of APM, Inc., a plastics manufacturing firm in Addison;
and
WHEREAS, Through the years Mr. Byrd has enjoyed the support
of a loving, close-knit family that includes his wife, Patricia
Ann, and their daughters and grandchildren; in addition, he is an
active member of the community of faith at Park Cities Baptist
Church, which he has long served as a Sunday school teacher; and
WHEREAS, In selecting Mr. Byrd as a recipient of its Ethics
Award, the Rotary Club of Park Cities has underscored his value to
the community, and we join his many friends and admirers in saluting
him for his myriad contributions to the greater good; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Larry R. Byrd
on receiving an Ethics Award from the Rotary Club of Park Cities and
commend him for the commitment and integrity he brings to all his
endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Byrd as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
