R E S O L U T I O N

	WHEREAS, Seven decades of marriage is truly a reason for 

celebration, and on July 13, 2005, Willie and Oleta Pruitt of 

Midland commemorated that momentous milestone in their life 

together; and

	WHEREAS, Mr. Pruitt and the former Oleta Riggs exchanged vows 

in 1935, in a ceremony held in Morrilton, Arkansas; they have 

enjoyed a warm and rewarding relationship based on a solid 

foundation of mutual love, trust, and respect; and

	WHEREAS, The center of a treasured family, Mr. and Mrs. 

Pruitt were blessed with a daughter, Marilyn Boyington, and four 

sons, Ken, Dave, Bill, and the late Robert Pruitt; through the 

years, they have happily welcomed 12 grandchildren, 34 

great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren into 

their hearts; and

	WHEREAS, Mrs. Pruitt has been a dedicated homemaker 

throughout her marriage, while Mr. Pruitt is retired from a career 

in civil service; they are members of First Assembly of God in 

Midland; and

	WHEREAS, Together, Mr. and Mrs. Pruitt have shared the myriad 

joys and challenges of marriage and parenthood, and they are truly 

deserving of special recognition; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 

Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Willie and 

Oleta Pruitt on the joyous occasion of their 70th wedding 

anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued happiness; 

and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 

prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Pruitt as an expression of high regard by 

the Texas House of Representatives.
