H.R. No. 77 







R E S O L U T I O N

	WHEREAS, Jeff and Alice St. John of Quitman marked a special 

milestone in their lives on July 16, 2005, when they celebrated 

their 50th wedding anniversary; and

	WHEREAS, United in matrimony on July 16, 1955, in Marshall, 

Mr. and Mrs. St. John were surprised by their children with a trip 

to Branson, Missouri, as an anniversary gift; and

	WHEREAS, They are the parents of David St. John, and his wife, 

Liz, and Sabrina Hendricks, and her husband, David, and they have 

shared in the joy of welcoming seven grandchildren and two 

great-grandchildren into their family; and

	WHEREAS, Mr. St. John has been in the ministry for 35 years 

and is currently the pastor of Little Hope Baptist Church; he served 

in the air force during the Korean War and was in the Air Force 

Reserves for another four years; and

	WHEREAS, For more than half a century, this devoted couple 

have nurtured a strong bond of love and mutual respect, filling each 

other's lives with many happy times and cherished family memories, 

and it is a pleasure to honor them at this time; now, therefore, be 

it

	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 

Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Jeff and Alice 

St. John on the joyous occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary 

and extend to them best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it 

further

	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 

prepared for Mr. and Mrs. St. John as an expression of high regard 

by the Texas House of Representatives.
