R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 70th birthday is truly reason for celebration, and
on July 30, 2005, El Paso resident Sherman Hugh Barnett is marking
this significant milestone in his life; and
WHEREAS, Born in 1935 in Alicia, Arkansas, Mr. Barnett is a
42-year resident of El Paso, where he contributes to the betterment
of his community through his roles as a business owner and a
supporter of various local and national organizations, including
the Children's Miracle Network Association, United Way, the
Northeast Rotary Club, Saint Jude, and the El Paso Rescue Mission;
and
WHEREAS, The owner of Barnett Harley-Davidson in El Paso,
Barnett's Las Cruces Harley-Davidson, Barnett Auto Store, and El
Paso Speedway Park, this outstanding Texan is a member of the El
Paso Independent Automobile Dealers Association and the Border
Racing Association; and
WHEREAS, A devoted family man as well, Mr. Barnett enjoys the
love and support of his wife, Christy Georges, sons Mark and Curt
Barnett, and daughters Kimberly Barnett and Pam Sears; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the years, Sherman Hugh Barnett has
devoted himself to his loved ones, to his businesses, and to the
wider community, and it is a distinct pleasure to join in honoring
him at this time; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Sherman Hugh
Barnett on the occasion of his 70th birthday and extend to him
sincere best wishes for continued happiness and good fortune; and,
be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Barnett as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
