H.R. No. 97
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, New York City firefighters Michael Kotula and
Anthony Rucco are traveling to Texas to participate in the third
annual 9-11 Memorial Golf Tournament taking place on September 26,
2005, in Kerrville; and
WHEREAS, Members of FDNY Engine 40/Ladder 35 in Manhattan,
these dedicated public servants lost 12 of their fellow
firefighters from their station as a result of the attack on the
World Trade Center's twin towers on September 11, 2001; and
WHEREAS, Proceeds from the golf tournament benefit the
Three-Alarm Fund, a program that aids families who have lost their
homes to fire, provides scholarships for high school seniors, and
supports an array of vital community outreach projects; and
WHEREAS, The events of September 11, 2001, continue to weigh
on the minds of countless Americans, particularly in light of the
recent subway and bus bombings in London, and the positive
contributions of firefighters and other emergency personnel
throughout the country provide hope for a safe future; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby recognize New York City
firefighters Michael Kotula and Anthony Rucco for their support of
the Three-Alarm Fund and extend best wishes to them for a positive
and productive visit to the Lone Star State; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Kotula and Mr. Rucco as an expression of high
regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
