R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Reverend Lelious A. Johnson and his wife, Carlette, are celebrating 13 years of commitment and leadership at St. Paul Baptist Church of Dallas in 2005; and WHEREAS, A graduate of Criswell College and the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Reverend Johnson answered the call to the ministry in 1983; he has since shared his wisdom with countless followers through the years, teaching and ministering at churches, youth conferences, and Bible seminars; and WHEREAS, Reverend Johnson has further shared his time and talents to benefit the Interdenominational Ministers Alliance and the Oak Cliff Ministers Union, which he serves as vice president; moreover, he has participated in the D.A.I. Wilmer-Hutchins School District Minister Conference and served on the board of directors of the D. Edwin Johnson Institute; and WHEREAS, Equally committed to assisting her fellow congregants, Mrs. Johnson has earned the respect and admiration of all who know her during her years with the church, while supporting her husband in his important work in behalf of the congregation as well as the greater community; and WHEREAS, For more than a decade, Reverend and Mrs. Johnson have distinguished themselves at St. Paul Baptist Church, and in that time their compassionate regard for the welfare of others has enriched the lives of a great many people; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby honor the Reverend Lelious A. Johnson and his wife, Carlette, on 13 years of service to St. Paul Baptist Church and extend to them best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for the Johnsons as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
