R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Case Management Society of America (CMSA) is
observing Case Management Week, October 9-15, 2005, and this
occasion provides a fitting opportunity to recognize this
noteworthy group; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1990, CMSA is an international, nonprofit
organization dedicated to the support and development of the
profession of case management; to that end, the group offers
members educational forums and networking opportunities, while
promoting occupational goals through legislative involvement; and
WHEREAS, More than 70 affiliated and prospective chapters
comprise CMSA, which developed the nationally recognized Standards
of Practice for Case Management, a forerunner in establishing
formal, written standards of practice from a variety of
disciplines; and
WHEREAS, Through Case Management Week, CMSA is working to
educate the public about case management and increase recognition
of the significant contribution of case managers to quality health
care for the patient, health care provider, and payor; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby honor the Case Management
Society of America as it celebrates Case Management Week 2005 and
commend its members for their contributions to the health care
industry; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
