R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, July 16, 2005, was a special day indeed for Emmitt and Saundra Sorrells of Greenville, for it marked the memorable milestone of their golden wedding anniversary; and WHEREAS, Emmitt Byron Sorrells was joined in matrimony with the former Saundra Jean Brazelton on July 16, 1955, at Elmwood Baptist Church in Dallas, and they have enjoyed a relationship that has continued to grow in mutual affection, admiration, and respect; and WHEREAS, Over the years, Mr. and Mrs. Sorrells have taken great pride and pleasure in their family, including their daughter and son-in-law, Sherilynn and Larry Don Crenshaw, their son and daughter-in-law, Gary Wayne and Kathy Ann Sorrells, and their three grandchildren, Cayla Nicole Crenshaw, Cara Lynn Crenshaw, and Lacy Ann Sorrells; and WHEREAS, This devoted couple's union of half a century is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and commitment, and we join their many admirers in honoring them; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Emmitt and Saundra Sorrells on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Sorrells as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
