H.R. No. 165







R E S O L U T I O N

	WHEREAS, A 70th wedding anniversary is a remarkable milestone 

in a couple's life together, and Walter and Celesta Garrett of 

Greenville recently celebrated this momentous event as the guests 

of honor at a memorable reception; and

	WHEREAS, Joined in matrimony on August 8, 1935, in a ceremony 

held in Ennis, Mr. and Mrs. Garrett have since been blessed with two 

children, Don Garrett and Nancy Guthrie, and through the years 

their family has grown to include eight grandchildren, seven 

great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; and

	WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Garrett have shared the trials and 

triumphs of seven decades together, and their enduring union serves 

as an inspiration for all who treasure them; now, therefore, be it

	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas 

Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Walter and 

Celesta Garrett on the joyous occasion of their 70th wedding 

anniversary and extend to them heartfelt best wishes for continued 

happiness; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be 

prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Garrett as an expression of high regard by 

the Texas House of Representatives.
