R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, September 20, 2005, is a special day indeed for
Levoy and Ola Mae Rains of Grand Saline, for it marks the couple's
73rd wedding anniversary; and
WHEREAS, These two remarkable Texans first joined their
fortunes together in Brownsboro, where Mr. Rains was employed as a
film projectionist and enjoyed the distinction of showing the first
talking picture in the town's history; and
WHEREAS, On September 20, 1932, Levoy Rains and the former
Ola Mae Owen were joined in matrimony at the home of a neighborhood
preacher, and since that time their union has continued to grow in
mutual love and admiration; and
WHEREAS, In celebrating their 73rd year together, Mr. and
Mrs. Rains pay eloquent tribute to the meaning of love and
commitment, and it is a pleasure to join their many admirers in
honoring them; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 79th Texas
Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Levoy and Ola
Mae Rains on the occasion of their 73rd wedding anniversary and
extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Rains as an expression of high regard by
the Texas House of Representatives.
